463rd Bomb Group

MISSION HISTORY

The 15th Air Force was located in Foggia, Italy, and stationed at Celone Air Field.

The 463rd Bomb Group was referred as the "Swoose Group" in honor of Colonel Frank Kurtz's plane with a "half-goose, half-swan nose art".

The 463rd Bomb Group was comprised of four squadrons; the 772nd, 773rd, 774th, and 775th. The "Victory Bound" was a part of the 772nd squadron.
